iFixit’s teardown of the 9.7-inch iPad Pro found, unsurprisingly, that the smaller tablet packed all the features previously found in the original 12.9-inch iPad Pro in a smaller package, but noted a few minor internal differences.

The device’s smaller size meant squeezing the four stereo speakers back along the margins rather than giving them the huge enclosures that dominated the larger model’s interior, and the display cable is configured differently as well, now attaching at the bottom right corner.
The 12 MP camera upgrade over the larger iPad Pro’s 8 MP camera makes it necessary to bring back the camera bump, with the teardown finding the camera dimple goes all the way down through the case to the sapphire crystal lens cover.
The 27.91 Whr battery found inside has a smaller capacity than the larger iPad Pro’s 38.8 Whr battery and is harder to extract without the pull tabs found on the other device’s battery, but still provides roughly the same 10 hour battery life estimate.
